MALIBU—A vigil was held over the weekend for Matthew Weaver, 21, who was last seen in August 2018 in Simi Valley. Weaver went missing and his car was found in Topanga Tower Motorway.

Matthew Jonathan Weaver Jr. was last seen on video surveillance at approximately 7:15 a.m. on August 10, 2018 driving on the Topanga Tower Motorway headed toward Rosas Overlook. He is believed to have been active on social media around 7:28 a.m. and to have sent a text message sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The vigil was held at Saddle Peak in Topanga where his car was discovered. The night Weaver went missing, he received a text from his friend while he was up in the Santa Monica Mountains. 

The Weaver family has announced a reward up to $50,000 to help locate him.

Weaver has brown hair and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet and 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Matthew has lived in Simi Valley and Las Vegas, Nevada ​
