BEVERLY HILLS —My name is “Teddy,” and thanks to the Friends of Animals Foundation, I’m alive today. Now, for my story. I was out for my walk, when all of a sudden a great big dog attacked me. Unfortunately, I was without a leash and couldn’t be pulled away and picked up in time.  That’s a lesson for everyone – always have a leash on us when we’re outside, so then you will have complete control, and be able to keep us safe.
 I won’t go into all of the details, but I was in extremely bad shape. My “person” didn’t have enough money to take me to the doctor, and I was about to give up. On the fourth day, she called Friends of Animals and told my story. She was told to bring me in right away. The minute I was brought in, I was rushed to the hospital. I was in such bad shape that they couldn’t do surgery right away. I was given blood transfusions and kept on all kinds of machines and tubes.

 Finally, I was strong enough so that they could do surgery on my wounds and stitch me up. Unfortunately, they couldn’t save my left eye. Luckily, they were able to save my right eye after two more surgeries. I will have to have drops in it every day for the rest of my life, but I don’t mind that one single bit!

 Other than that, I’m doing just fine! And, if you could see me bouncing around here, happy as can be, you would never know that anything that scary had ever happened to me. I love my walks, and all of the attention that everyone is giving me. I’ve been told that I’m a very good boy, and no trouble at all. I love everyone, and everyone seems to love me back!
Now, more than anything else, it would be so great to be part of a family.  So, won’t you please call to see me? You can take me for a walk – with a leash, of course – and see what a good walker I am. Then we can sit and cuddle for a while, and, well, I may work my way into your heart!
