WEST HOLLYWOOD— The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO-LA) and the City of West Hollywood have joined forces to host weGo!, a free community event honoring January’s National Get Organized (Go) Month. The event’s focus will be in helping Los Angeles kick off the new year by educating, motivating, and inspiring people to get more organized in 2016.

According to a West Hollywood news release, Get Organized Month (Go Month) was started in January 2003 by NAPO with the goal of empowering individuals “to regain control over the clutter in their lives.”

The event is set to take place on Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Plummer Community Center located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90046, and will feature professional organizers who will provide a wealth of organizational tips.

“Getting organized is the #2 most popular New Year’s resolution,” says President of NAPO-LA Leslie Haber. “It’s the perfect time to set your goals for the year and bring order to your life. For that reason, we are thrilled to partner with the city of West Hollywood to host weGo! at this time of year and help Los Angeles do just that.”

Canyon News reached out to NAPO-LA’s Cary Prince, who specifically mentioned that the inaugural event will have presenters from the TV show “Hoarders,” along with how-to workshops, panels and presentations hosted by LA’s top celebrity professional organizers. Prince also noted that $150 gift certificates to The Container Store will be given away along with other prizes.

The “ask-the-organizer panels” will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions, discuss challenges, and gain advice from experts, while vendors will provide products, services, tools, and resources for becoming and staying organized.

Canyon News inquired about the expected number of attendees, as to which Prince replied via e-mail, “This is our first year to host this event, so it is difficult to project specific audience attendance. Since ‘getting organized’ is a top New Year’s resolution, we hope this event will appeal to many people to get a jump start at organizing their homes, offices and lives in 2016.”

NAPO-Los Angeles is a non-profit organization “dedicated to developing, leading and promoting professional organizers and the benefits of better home and business organization,” as indicated in their website. NAPO, which was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles, has a membership of approximately 4,000 organizing and productivity professionals nationwide, who help individuals and organizations create lives filled with order and efficiency.
