BEVERLY HILLS—Woofstock 90210 is coming back to Beverly Hills for another installment in 2016. On March 6, the free pet extravaganza returns to Roxbury Park’s “Wiggly Field,” located at 471 S. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90212. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The park will play host to pet-related contests, goods and services, entertainment, food trucks, pet adoptions, and a good time for the whole family that residents will not want to miss.

Over 250 four-legged pets and 3,000 two-legged masters are expected to be in attendance.

Woofstock 90210 is presented by the City of Beverly Hills Community Services Department. It will feature over 35 pet related vendors and specialty booths. One of the crowd favorites is the “Dog Wedding” booth. Take your furry canine here to pose in wedding costumes, face painting and body art (for a nominal fee). You are welcome to dress up yourself and pose with your pet.

The event will also feature the Pet Parade Costume Contest in three categories, Su “Paw” Heroes, Most Creative, and the Funniest; an extravagant pet talent show; the infamous Zoom Room Agility Demonstrations; and the Disc Dog Pet Show.

The Pet Care Foundation will be in attendance and will have pets available for adoption.

The following food trucks will be available for the convenience of event goers: A Rockin Ice, Cousins Main Lobster, Greasy Weiner and Pie & Burger.

Canyon News spoke with Dana Beesen, Publicist for the City of Beverly Hills via email about the event. When asked about the popularity of Woofstock 90210, Cindy Brynan, Senior Recreation Supervisor, said, “Beverly Hills residents love Woofstock 90210 because it provides a fun day for humans and their four-legged friends as they spend time in the park and enjoy socializing their pets with their neighbors pets!  Now that the City has approved a new dog park, the community will be able to come out with their pets and socialize more often.  With the opening of the dog park in the near future, it will be a great place to hold this annual event.”

There is free parking available at Beverly Hills High School with free shuttle service from 10:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. “As this is the 8th year, the popularity of the event has grown tremendously. City and  sponsors promote the event as do the vendors.  Rescues and adoptions bring out many for those interested,” said Beesen.

She noted to Canyon News that residents are encouraged to bring their pets to the event, as it gives them the opportunity “to socialize with their neighbors and their neighbors four-legged friends.”
