SANTA MONICA—Charles Edward Mondev, 19, was fatally shot by his brother, whose name has not been disclosed, after an argument on Sunday, August 25. Mondev was pronounced dead on the scene by officials.

Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a call about shots fired call at a home in the 900 block of Lincoln Boulevard. Authorities noted both brothers were living with their parents. police say the two brothers were living with their parents.

According to police, the brothers were engaged in a dispute when one shot and killed the other with a small caliber handgun. Authorities have not yet disclosed what the argument was in relation to. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked for 187(a) PC – Homicide.

Mondev was arraigned on August 27, with a bail of three million dollars. The preliminary date on this case has not been set and will be determined by the Los Angeles District Attorney’ s office.
