HOLLYWOOD—Television lovers the Daytime Emmy Nominations were announced on Thursday, May 1 and leading the pack of all nominees was the CBS soap “The Young and the Restless” with a total of 26 nominations including Outstanding Drama Series. One big surprise is the omission of ABC soap “ General Hospital” in that race. Wow, did not see that one coming.
Competing alongside “Y&R” in the race is “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “One Life to Live” and “Days of Our Lives” which took home the trophy in 2013. “With over 1,400 entries this year, the National Academy is again excited to welcome more than 350 nominees to this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards,” said, Malachy Wienges, Chairman, NATAS. “We are happy to return to both the Beverly Hilton and the Westin Bonaventure for what I’m sure will be two very exciting nights for the Daytime television community!”
