WEST HOLLYWOOD—PAWSAPALOOZA is back for its fourth year. The annual event will be held on Sunday, May 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. PAWSAPALOOZA will be hosted at  West Hollywood Park located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard. The event is free to attend. The dog lover/family friendly event will be co-chaired this year by Wendy Burch of KTLA’s Channel 5 and Lisa Foxx from 104.3 MYFM.

The event features a marketplace of pet products, services, music, food trucks, giveaways, animal adoptions, and much more. At 12 p.m. there will be a costume contest which will be judged by special celebrity guest Michael Moloney from “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Vendors who will be present at the event include Best Friends Animal Society, DOTT Tags, Dancing Dog Massage, and many others.

The event is being hosted by PAWS/LA, an organization based in Los Angeles that is a non-profit that provides important animal care services to low income elderly and or critically sick people. Any money that is made from PAWSAPALOOZA will go to PAWS/LA programs.

Parking will be available at the parking structure nearby the park for a fee. Event goers can bring their dogs, but they must be on a leash. The event is being sponsored by Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies, and Frontiers Media.

Future improvements are expected to be made to West Hollywood Park to make the park more dog friendly. There are plans to create an off-leash dog park. The park will include areas designated for small and large dogs. There will be open space for dogs to run and play. The park will feature two entryways to get into the park. There will be stations to throw out dog waste and water bowl fillers. For more information visit www.weho.org/whparkproject for more information on the project.
