SANTA MONICA—On December 25, a victim of a fatal traffic collision has been positively identified, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The incident occurred on December 23, at the intersection of 10th Street and Wilshire Boulevard at about 9 p.m., when 66-year-old Herceg Vlado, of Santa Monica, was walking southbound across Wilshire Boulevard. The driver, a 19-year-old Hispanic male whose identity has not been released, was traveling westbound on Wilshire Boulevard towards 10thStreet, when he reportedly struck Vlado, who was in the crosswalk.  Vlado was treated at the scene by the Santa Monica Fire Department and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver in the incident was questioned and released without citation; however, the results of the investigation will later determine whether he will face charges.
