LONG BEACH—On April 19, Aiga Changing Our Deaf Awareness (ACODA) will be hosting their first annual Easter Festival in Grace Park. According to ACODA’s facebook page, Alika – the CEO and Founder of ACODA – explains that Aiga means “family” in Samoan.

The description section on their Facebook explains their goal to provide “services to Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Blind, Children and [Adults; which] includes Interpreting services, Deaf Identity, ASL classes, counseling, seminars, workshop, referral programs, tutoring, educational goals for children, GED programs, daycare programs and information about Deaf Culture.”

The Easter Festival will take place at Grace Park on Plymouth and Elm in Long Beach, California on April 19.  The festivities start at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m.

The event promises family fun, games, prizes, food, and an Easter egg hunt; one for those between the ages of 7 and 12, and another for children who are 6 years of age and younger.

The event is free to attend and is sponsored by the Addams Neighborhood Association.
