HOLLYWOOD—It was the penultimate episode before the climatic season three final and “Impetus” absolutely delivered. All the elements carefully fit, in what some would equate to being a season finale, but it appears the writers have even bigger plans for next week. For those who remember, Charlotte was kidnapped by an elusive party in the previous episode, that person turned out to be Aiden (Barry Sloane). Yep, Emily (Emily VanCamp) kidnapped her own SISTER in an attempt to get the goods on Conrad.

The duo used the naïve one to get Conrad and Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) to confess to their involvement in the flight 187 explosion. Daniel (Joshua Bowman) was portraying double duty as he did his best to clean-up the mess he caused by getting close to his mother, but also Margaux (Karine Vanasse). Victoria is damn certain that Emily is behind all the shenanigans that has destroyed her family. My big question is why hasn’t she made a bigger move to expose the fake? There is more to the story we don’t know.

After learning her father was wearing a wire during his death, Margaux suspected that Conrad had a hand in his death. Boy toy Daniel, attempted to go along with her suspicion, knowing all along that he played a part with his father in Pascal’s demise. Concern for Charlotte’s whereabouts reached a fever pitch for Javier and Jack (Nick Wechsler) who became concerned about his brother’s ex. Nolan (Gabriel Mann) was none too pleased with Emily’s tactics towards her blood, but the heroine was not letting up.

Conrad received a special package from Emily: an ear! It sent the message that Charlotte’s captors meant business and he alerted his wife of the danger her daughter was in. The Queen Bee had other business and she collected blood from Jack’s son to continue her hidden mission. The big question at hand is the mystery guy who was working for Vicky. I was almost certain that was the guy who was seen in the cabin, but just what info does Victoria have on David Clarke that she has yet to reveal?

Emily’s plan to force footage of the flight 187 debacle got under Charlotte’s skin, but also forced Jack to go against the group when he was left solo with the smitten one. He decided to let her go. At first it seemed like a desperate move for Jack, but the audience later discovered it was apart of the plan all along. Emily found herself being questioned by police in Pascal’s death thanks to Daniel’s latest quest for vengeance. This guy does remember he attempted to murder a woman right? I wonder what happens when this news comes to light. Nolan and Aiden were forced to do damage control to protect Emily’s identity from coming to surface and it worked. Those techies!

Victoria received evidence that forced her to back out of the press conference. Just what we’ve yet to discover, but I’m certain we will learn next week. Whatever it is, it’s epic to say the least. She was on her high horse. Before being released from police custody, the detective acknowledged his concern for Daniel Grayson; indicating that Emily was a bigger threat than what her ex-husband had known. Conrad was relieved to see Charlotte return home, but she was none too happy with papa bear. She unleashed some anger onto her ‘father,’ who decided to lash back by revealing ALL. He even said, “You are an ungrateful bastard.” Whoa, that was quite harsh. Little did he know he was being recorded the entire time! Checkmate!

It was a moment of truth that brought tears to both Emily and Nolan. The mission was over right? Not even close, our heroine still had one more target to take down, Victoria Grayson. She relished when the news surfaced that her hubby was going to prison, but he made it crystal clear that his wife would soon be joining him. If there is one thing to know about Conrad Grayson, he always plans ahead.

While Emily celebrated with Aiden, Jack interrupted the shindig by showing her a ring that her father had when they were kids. It shook our heroine to the core. I mean could David Clarke really be alive and if not, how important is this ring to the rest of the story? Before the episode concluded Victoria revealed to Daniel she had some damaging evidence on Emily Thorne, but she wouldn’t divulge.

Can’t wait for next week’s finale as it appears Victoria finally realizes that Emily Thorne is Amanda Clarke. That is a moment I’m dying to see, but it’s the season three finale, so I’m certain an epic twist will be revealed to audiences. Until next Sunday “Revenge” lovers!
