BEVERLY HILLS—The “Sharing the Bounty” charity dinner that was to be held on Thursday, September 18 has been cancelled due to low ticket sales. According to a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market is still planning to provide meals to assist the homeless.
The event has now been turned into a dinner to help individuals and families who are aligned with the People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), a non-profit organization that fights to end homelessness for individuals, families and communities.
“Although it’s not the community dinner we originally planned for, the City of Beverly Hills, local chefs and farmers still wanted to “share the bounty” and assist the homeless. Local farmers are donating food, restaurants are preparing fresh meals and we’re honoring the 20th anniversary of the Farmers’ Market by serving dinner to homeless individuals at a local shelter,” commented Greta Dunlap, Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market Manager.
Meals that were planned for the charity event will be given to more than 150 homeless people on September 18. PATH is vital to the City’s social services and helps provide food and shelter to homeless individuals in the City and throughout the Los Angeles area.
