HOLLYWOOD—We all knew that the series finale of “True Blood” was on the horizon, but no one could have predicted what the finale would deliver. The series’ final episode titled “Thank You” wrapped up on the storylines that had been lingering, but ended on a somber note. For a show known for unexpected deaths, only one death may or may not have surprised fans of the show.

The previous episode saw Bill (Stephen Moyer) arriving to Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) home unbeknownst that Mr. Gus and his gang may be on the way. He begged Sookie to kill him! Wow, Bill has truly lost his mind, placing his lover in a tortured state of mind.

Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) devised a plan to help Sarah (Anna Camp) escape by providing her with Pam’s blood, just in case she’s in trouble. The bloodbath at Fangtasia was on high alert as Eric and Pam dispatched of Mr. Gus and most of his crew. They used that incentive to their advantage to capitalize on Mr. Gus’ business plan for Sarah Newlin. In a surprising move, Sarah asked Pam to turn her into a vampire, but our wicked one refused, but not before taking quite a few jabs at her former nemesis.

Bill received a visit from Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) with Hoyt (Jim Parrack) in tow, as she informed her maker that she was planning to get married. Sookie met Jason’s (Ryan Kwanten) new gal pal Bridgette, and were stunned to learn that Jess and Hoyt were getting married; finally, some happiness in the town of Bon Temps.

Arlene (Carrie Preston), Holly (Lauren Bowles) and Andy (Chris Bauer) arrived at the Compton residence, where Andy was stunned to discover that Bill was leaving his estate to Andy. During the ceremony, Sookie read Bill’s mind and learned that he was suffering in pain, and he professed his love to the only woman he truly loved. She poured her emotions out to her brother about Bill’s predicament, where Jason was taken aback by Sookie’s attempt to ask for his advice.

Sookie informed Bill that she made the arrangements for his demise at the ceremony, but something sinister is brewing if you ask me. She asked her lover not to ask her to do this. They shared a passionate kiss, before Bill jumped into the grave and opened a picture of him and his daughter. This is unbelievable to watch this, Sookie is an emotional wreck, Bill just as calm as he can be.

She began to wield her light and refused to take her lover’s life. She instead took a wooden stake to Bill’s heart and he pushed it into his chest spewing blood all over Sookie. It was the one true death I think every “True Blood” fanatic was hoping would never happen. The tortured soul than began to cover Bill’s grave before leaving the cemetery.

The episode than jumped time, with Eric and Pam selling their new product ‘new blood,’ a energy drink to say the least. Sarah was unfortunately still being held captive in the basement of Bon Temps.  I honestly felt sorry for Sarah, but should I considering all the bad that she has done.

In a surprise moment, at a Thanksgiving feast, Sookie was preggers, Jason had an abode of kiddies, Sam returned to town with his daughter and Nicole. It was a family affair with all the remaining residents of Bon Temps celebrating the importance of family and friends. Like that seven seasons of a vampire hit came to an end. “True Blood” didn’t end with the unexpected surprises so many of us expected, but it did end on a happy note.
