WOODLAND HILLS—Amazon will launch its first ever grocery store in Woodland Hills in early 2020 according to four new job listings posted on Amazon.com. The new marketplace will be located at 6245 Topanga Canyon Blvd. at the former site of Toys R’ Us.

Positions available on the website include lead grocery associate, grocery associate, food service associate, and overnight grocery associate. All four listings were created on Monday, November 11.

Amazon indicated in their online application that each role was ineligible for sponsorship for immigration, including fH-1B, TN, and other non-immigrant visas. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for all open positions.

Pay rates at the Woodland Hills establishment range from $15.35 per hour to $16.90 per hour with benefits.

According to reports, each stores operation will be distinct and not similar to the ‘Amazon-Go’ format. Individual cashiers will be on site rather than virtual checkout systems at current ‘Amazon-Go’ locations.

Amazon declined to disclose items that will be sold at the the new grocery store and any new plans that are in development for other marketplaces in California.
