SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica Police Department and Santa Monica Fire Department will help usher Santa Claus in town as the city hosts its 25th Annual “Candy Cane Drive” on Saturday, December 9.

According to a press release from the SMPD, Santa Claus and his public safety helpers will distribute cheers and thousands of candy canes as part of the event. The public is invited to join and participate in the event which is free for all to attend.

Santa’s scheduled stops during the event on December 9 include the following:

-10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Douglas Park – 2400 California Avenue

-11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Christine Reed Park- 1133 7th Street

-1:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Virginia Avenue Park – 2200 Virginia Avenue

-2:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Marine Park – 1406 Marine Street

-3:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Clover Park – 2600 Ocean Park Blvd.

Santa Monica children are encouraged to look and listen for the lights and sirens of the public safety vehicles, while parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
