LONG BEACH—Following the initiation of the American Sign Language Club on the Long Beach City College campus, club president Lucero Torres, planned to have the club attend its first official meeting on April 21 at the school’s T building in room T1326.

Due to the lack of members who were unable to attend, the first meting was forced to be postponed until members and club officials arrive back from their spring break. The ASL club is focusing their attention on not only gaining more members, but spreading the word of the club.

Club president Lucero Torres told Canyon News, that the club’s next event will likely take place on Wednesday, April 30, at a Starbucks near the campus, where the club will only communicate in ASL. Any deaf, hard of hearing or any one who knows ASL is welcome to join as well. Further details have not yet been confirmed.
