HOLLYWOOD—A 33-year-old Hollywood resident was arrested for attempted murder after stabbing another man curbside at LAX on May 1.
The attack happened around 12:30 a.m. on the upper level of LAX between the Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminal 3. The victim was waiting in his car to pick up his brother, an airport employee, when he was approached by the suspect, identified by authorities as Danny Lee Thomas. According to witnesses, Thomas looked like he was having delusions and said that the victim looked like President Obama’s son. After the attack occurred, he ran to the lower level of the airport and attempted to get into the USO lounge. When he could not gain access, he was caught by USO volunteers and police.
Thomas is an aspiring rapper who makes music under the stage name Wizard. His website quotes biblical scripture such as “Remember God is Love and Jesus is Lord.(1st Corinthians 12: 3) ; I confess Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. (1st John 4).” Four days before the attack, he posted a link on his Facebook page to a song he wrote titled “I am Jesus Christ.”
The victim, who has not been identified, suffered slashes on his neck, a bite on the shoulder, and a wound above his eye. He was last reported as being listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
