HOLLYWOOD—It could perhaps be genius casting or the worse movie of all time. The controversy surrounding the sequel to “Man of Steel,” “Batman vs. Superman” continues to baffle fans of the comic book superheroes. In 2013, it was announced that actor Ben Affleck would tackle the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The casting announcement led to one of the biggest trends on social media, but prepare for more backlash. Last week it was announced that Oscar-nominee Jesse Eisenberg has been cast in the role of Lex Luthor.

Previous buzz had fans speculating that “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston would assume the role, but it appears Warner Bros. has another angle in plan for Superman’s biggest nemesis. It will indeed be interesting to see Eisenberg tackle Clark Kent’s buddy and foe.  There is no question about the actor’s ability to tackle complex roles, just look at “The Social Network” for those not in the know.

My concern with “Batman vs. Superman” is the large number of characters slated to appear in the feature. Having a film focus on one superhero is enough, but factor in Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and so many others, we’re looking at some serious plot problems if things are not done correctly.
