BEVERLY HILLS— Keith M. Davidson, a Beverly Hills lawyer is fighting several extortion allegations. In addition to these accusations, he is involved in a federal investigation surrounding Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, whose office was recently raided by officials.

Davidson represented former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, and adult film star, Stormy Daniels with legal issues involving President Trump. He managed to get them hefty settlements in exchange for their silence about Trump’s alleged extramarital affairs with them. His counterpart in the negotiations was Michael Cohen.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, and McDougal have severed their attorney-client relationship with Davidson. The women have hired new attorneys in order to invalidate their previous NDA arrangements. Davidson’s practice exists on the outskirts of entertainment law, where he oft-times works with clients to settle scandalous accusations and trysts for remunerations and NDAs.

Davidson represented a client who allegedly had a sex tape with wrestler Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea. Davidson initially asked for a million dollar settlement for his client, but the parties agreed to $300,000. When Davidson met Hogan and his lawyer in a hotel in Florida for the initial installment, the room was wired. It was part of a FBI sting operation in which agents were listening to their conversation in a nearby room. Davidson was detained by authorities, but never charged.

His law license was suspended for several months in 2010 for professional misconduct. After Cohen’s Manhattan office was raided in April, Davidson was contacted by federal officials regarding communications he had with Cohen.

According to his spokesperson, Dave Wedge, Davidson complied with the investigation stating: “Mr. Davidson was asked to provide certain limited electronic information. He has done so and will continue to cooperate to the fullest extent possible under the law.”

Both lawyers had dealings in the past, recently in 2017 where Davidson represented a former playboy model who allegedly had an affair with top GOP donor, Elliott Broidy. Cohen was Broidy’s lawyer.

The probe into Cohen’s dealings is separate from the Russia investigation headed by Director of the FBI Robert Mueller. The search warrant for the Cohen probe was obtained after a referral from the special counsel. Authorities seized secret recordings that Cohen made. The federal investigation of Cohen remains ongoing, and Davidson may be required to provide additional documents.
