BEVERLY HILLS—A press release from the City of  Beverly Hills is inviting residents to attend the Roxbury Park Community Center opening, which will open on Sunday, June 8. The celebration will take place between 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, fun activities will be provided such as family kickball, refreshments, building tours, and many more. In addition, the summer reading club commencement party will begin at 4 p.m. and will end at 5 p.m. at the Beverly Hills Public Library.

The newly renovated park will have additional features that include an entire suite to accommodate needs of seniors, a bigger multipurpose room for community gatherings, teen dances and cultural programs and a larger library annex.

The reconstruction started back in June 2013 and the project was expected to be completed in one year. During that time frame, many of the activities were relocated to La Cienega Park.

According to the release, “activities at the Center will focus on after-school and enrichment programs for youth and teens, healthy Beverly Hills fitness activities, senior programming, and classes for parents with children.”
