BEL AIR—Grammy Award-winning singer Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, reportedly put in a $90 million offer on a Bel Air mansion, the Los Angeles Times first reported on Friday, July 28.

The couple was previously rumored to have put in an initial offer of $130 million on the spec home, designed by architect Paul McClean and developed by Dean McKillen. They currently reside in a 6.3-acre rental villa in Malibu with their daughter Blue Ivy and infant twins, Sir and Rumi, for $400,000 a month, according to reports. The Bel Air estate was reportedly never publicly listed for sale.

Located near Bel Air’s East Gate, the property covers 30,000 square feet across six structures on nearly 2 acres of land, with more than 10,000 square feet of terrace and patio space for indoor-outdoor living. The home features 8 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, spas, a media room, and a recording studio. Glass-walled common areas open on two sides, revealing panoramic views. The glass doors and windows are bulletproof. Outdoor amenities include four swimming pools, a 15-car garage, a full basketball court, a tennis court, and separate staff quarters.

The current owners reportedly purchased the property in 2013 for $15 million. The home was rebuilt from the ground up over the last four years. Once the deal is finalized, the sale will be the highest recorded this year in Los Angeles County, surpassing the $85 million sale of film studio executive David Geffen to Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have reportedly been looking to purchase a permanent residence in Los Angeles in recent years. The couple and their daughter previously resided in the Holmby Hills area on the Westside, where they rented an estate for $150,000 a month. In 2014, they were rumored to have been outbid by Minecraft creator Markus Persson for a Beverly Hills spec mansion. In 2016, they were outbid again by fashion designer Tom Ford for a Beverly Hills mansion that was once home to James Bond producer Albert Broccoli.

Beyoncé, 35, initially gained fame as a member of Destiny’s Child in 1997. As a solo artist, she has won 22 Grammy Awards and sold over 100 million records. In 2016, her project “Lemonade” received universal acclaim and was considered among the best of the year, winning eight awards at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. In February, she announced her second pregnancy through an Instagram post, showing a photo of herself cradling her baby bump.

Jay-Z, 47, is considered one of the best-selling musicians of all time and was named the 88th greatest artist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. He has sold more than 100 million records and received 31 Grammy Awards. In early June, posters and teaser ads were displayed in New York and Los Angeles, promoting a project titled “4:44.” The project was confirmed to be Jay-Z’s new album on June 18.
