BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills boy’s basketball team took home their first Southern Section championship since 1969 with a 55-47 win over Corona del Mar on March 6 in the 3A final at Azusa Pacific.
Player Denzel Holt helped with the win in the final 1:19 with eight consecutive free throws.
Holt and Jalen Sands concluded the game with 12 points each. Chance Comanche had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Samuel Kobrine led Corona del Mar with 16 points.
