BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills Police Department is asking for the public’s help to catch a “prolific thief” who has been targeting luxury retail boutiques in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and parts of Los Angeles over recent months.

In a press release to Canyon News, the BHPD indicated the suspect allegedly swiped several thousands of dollars of big-ticket handbags and luxury wallets. The thief’s criminal scheme involves him walking into a store with a shopping bag, usually during lunch time. He fills it up with the luxury stolen items and escapes casually and undetected.

An image of the suspected shoplifter released by the Beverly Hills Police Department notes that the suspect is a tall, slender African-American male, in his late 20s — early 30s, who has hazel or green eyes, long dreadlocks pulled into a pony tail and a thin beard.
