BEVERLY HILLS—Producer and actor, Andrew Charles Burkle, 26, nicknamed Drew by his close friends, was found unresponsive at a Beverly Hills home on Monday, January 6, People magazine first reported.

The Beverly Hills Police Department indicated in a statement that at 7:26 p.m., officers and the fire department responded to a call from Burkle’s family indicating Andrew was unconscious.

Authorities notified the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, who later pronounced Andrew deceased.

The cause of Burkle’s death is currently under investigation. Andrew is the son of billionaire Ronald Burkle, who is the founder of The Yucaipa Companies, an investment firm. He is also the co-owner of the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins, and is an investor of Sacramento’s Major League Soccer team.

“It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we announce the death of Andrew C. Burkle on January 6, 2020 in Beverly Hills, California,” the Burkle family said in a statement released through Ronald’s company.

Andrew served as a producer of In Good Company Films. He was the associate producer for the 2019 movie, “Airplane Mode” his Internet Movie Database page notes. He is survived by his father, his mother, Janet Duitson, sister, Carrie Harr, and his brother John.
