MALIBU—A two-branch brush fire transpired in Malibu on April 17 during the afternoon.

Kanan Dume Road was closed southbound at Mulholland Drive and northbound at Pacific Coast Highway for several hours as officials worked to contain the blaze. According to reports, lanes re-opened in the region shortly after 8 p.m.

The fire allegedly transpired by an incident involving a vehicle. The embers from the fire led to a second adjacent brush fire. The first branch of the fire burned 2.9 acres and the second branch burned 1.5 acres.

The blaze was put out just before 6:00 p.m.
