BEVERLY HILLS—A brush fire occurred on Monday, May 1, in the area of Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills that threatened multi-million-dollar homes in the region.

The fire was reported at around 11:33 a.m. at 1728 West Monte Cielo Court, near Lago Vista Drive and Coldwater Canyon Drive. Most of the flames were extinguished by about 12:13 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The flames spread approximately 1 acre uphill, threatening two homes before they were subdued. Firefighters reported that the lack of wind kept the fire from spreading farther.

More than 80 firefighters from the Beverly Hills Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called to assist with diffusing the fire. A helicopter and four camp crews were also provided noted the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

There was no immediate information on the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation. There were no reports of any injuries.
