WESTWOOD—A man was arrested on Wednesday, May 1 near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The suspect was wanted for burglary and fled into the medical building to evade arrest.

The suspect allegedly broke into a garage of a home earlier at 3:50 p.m. He immediately fled from responding officers. A second suspect who was also allegedly involved in the same burglary was arrested earlier in the day before the first suspect ran into the medical facility.

The suspect ran into the Mark Goodson building located on 444 S. San Vicente Boulevard. The building was placed on lockdown as officers from the Los Angeles Police Department conducted a search. Police officials utilized the building’s speaker system to address the suspect to surrender to authorities. The Mark Goodson building is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai, but is not located on the main campus.

The suspect was taken into custody at 7:15 p.m. There were no reports of any injuries during the incident.
