SHERMAN OAKS—Two men suspected of carjacking a man, burglarizing his home, hitting him in the head and fleeing in his car with him inside, were arrested in Sherman Oaks on Saturday, December 10, authorities reported.

The incident began when the victim left a barbershop on Fullerton Avenue and Moorpark Street, reported Sgt. E. Swihart of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Station.

Three suspects allegedly approached the victim, and forced him to drive his Mercedes Benz to his home near the 15400 block of Vista Haven Place, Swihart noted.

According to police, the suspects allegedly took property from the victim’s home before fleeing the scene in the man’s car. The suspects were traced to the area of Ventura Boulevard and Kester Avenue where the owner of the vehicle was found bound by zip-ties in the abandoned car. The victim was freed of his restraints by a citizen, police added.

Police formed a perimeter around the area, and apprehended two alleged suspects at approximately 2:30 p.m., Swihart said.

According to police, some of the stolen property was returned to the victim. Investigators are following leads on the third suspect. The names of the suspects and the victim’s have not yet been disclosed to the public.
