HOLLYWOOD —The Godiva chocolates. The red roses. The reservations to that favorite restaurant. All these things mean only one thing: Valentine’s Day! When you think you found someone to love, you generally open your hearts to them. Later to realize that love never fails, people do. Of course, when your heart is broken you feel like you have been tossed around like a salad, thrown in the trash, and replaced by someone who drives a Mercedes, Valentine’s Day can be painful. If you’re single, you can go out with friends, the love of close friends is special-cause we all know those are few and far in between. If you’re single, and recently been dumped prior to Valentine’s Day, typical, so he doesn’t break the bank account, and saves the money, you can rent “Legally Blonde” eat some chocolates and throw the box at the TV when he dumps Reese Witherspoon during that infamous scene where they are having dinner in the restaurant. If you’re planning something with your significant other, make it memorable. I think I’ve been watching too much Oprah Winfrey.

“Valentine’s Day” is also a movie full of celebrities and love that hit theaters on February 12. You’ve probably seen the commercials; everyone in Hollywood is in it. Not really, but just about every A-lister. The star-power packed movie stars Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Taylor Swift, Ashton Kutcher, Taylor Lautner, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Queen Latifah, George Lopez, Emma Roberts and many more. And if, you’re a single lady that dreads Valentine’s Day, this is just the perfect movie for you. Expect some solid box-office numbers on opening weekend.

With celebrations, there is always Champagne. Singer and actress Mariah Carey announced last month on Twitter that she would be launching champagne called Angel Champagne (Rose) by MC. It is expected sometime in 2010; however, a specific date was not announced. You may recall back in 2006, Carey invested in a Mendocino County winery’s Mariah Zinfandel. Another celebrity who tried her hand at the champagne business was Paris Hilton; she launched her own line called Rich Prosecco in 2007 that came in a can. I think it fizzled. Paris who tweeted on February 8, that she was on her way to Paris, France for her design meeting, has a new clothing line collection. It’s no wonder she flew to Paris, France. It’s romantic, breath-taking from the Louvre to the little coffee shops. The perfect city, to be on Valentine’s Day.

While some celebrities are globe-trotting for the holiday, others are flying down to visit Haiti earthquake survivors. Angelina Jolie, according to reports, dashed from the Super Bowl on February 7 in Miami, Fla., and flew to Santo Domingo’s Dario Contrera Hospital, to see for herself that dozens of survivors of the January 12 earthquake are receiving medical help. Her dedication to charity, goes without saying, she is just incredible.

A glittering cast of music stars has made the Haiti relief charity single number one in the music download charts. The single is a cover of the 1993 REM hit “Everybody Hurts” and features 21 stars including Jon Bon Jovi, Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams and many more. Music mogul Simon Cowell put together the record for Haiti. The monies from the single will be equally split between the Disasters Emergency Committee and The Sun’s Helping Haiti campaign.
