CHATSWORTH, CA—A man was found dead after shooting his wife and himself at their Chatsworth home on Sunday, April 14.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Area responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon Shots Fired” around 4:30 p.m in the 9100 block of Foster Lane the LAPD stated in a news release.
Officers entered the home and discovered David Kooros Parsa, 46, and Mihoko Koike Parsa, 38, deceased in the upstairs bedroom both dead from gunshot wounds. There identities were confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded and pronounced both dead at scene.
Los Angeles Police Department Operations Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives were notified after discovering the bodies and responded to the scene. The couple were married with two young children, according to a preliminary investigation. Detectives indicated that the husband shot his wife as she laid in the bed.
Neither child were physically injured during the incident. They were admitted to a local area hospital for observation. The children are in custody of Department of Children’s Family Services. The three-month-old baby boy and a 4-year-old girl were left alone next to their parents’ bodies for several days Fox 11 News reported.
The motive behind the shooting has not been determined and it’s unclear when exactly the murder-suicide took place.
