WEST HOLLYWOOD—On Sunday, August 18, the city of West Hollywood will be hosting CicLavia an event that is presented by the Metro. This event be will transpire in East Hollywood, Hollywood and West Hollywood. 

CicLavia, is a free event opened to the public that encourages the public to get on a bicycle and ride through town. The event temporarily closes the streets to car traffic which allows locals to use the streets as a public park. The organization has left local and regional impacts related to pedestrians and bikes. The event itself improves air quality by reducing ultra fine particles in the air by over 20 percent. 

The event will take place from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Participants can enter the event in several different areasl. The bike ride will be going through some historic parts of Hollywood including the Hollywood Walk of Fame and West Hollywood’s Rainbow Crosswalk. There have already been 1,362 RSVPS for CicLavia—Meet the Hollywoods.

CicLavia is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit and one of the biggest open streets events in the country. Ciclavia has five times more people using the temporary park space during the event day than are using all other parks in the city of Los Angeles combined.
