SANTA MONICA—The Second Annual Polar Bear Swim will take place on Saturday, December 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to a press release from the city of Santa Monica, during the event participants can take a quick dip or take a deeper dive into the Pacific Ocean for a 300-yard buoy swim. After a dip in the water, swimmers can warm up inside the Annenberg Community Beach House pool.

Participants are asked to be creative and wear costumes and to take photos with Pat, Santa Monica’s polar bear mascot. Registration includes pool admission for those Polar Bears that want to soak or swim in the warm pool, take a hot shower and snacks will be provided. All ages are urged to attend.

Pool Admission: $10/adults, $5/senior adults 60+, $4/youth 1-17. Regular pool rules apply while swimming during the event. Individuals younger than eight years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the pool. In-person registration will be available, but may be limited on the day of event.

The event will be held at the Annenberg Community Beach House located at 415 Pacific Coast Hwy, Santa Monica, CA 90402.

Participants will run through a festive arch on Santa Monica State Beach before jumping into the Pacific Ocean followed by a warm swim in the Beach House pool.
