LOS ANGELES—Jaime Jimenez, 48, a volunteer football coach, pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting five students in court on Thursday, November 10.

Jimenez faces counts of continuous sexual assaults and lewd acts on a child 14 to 15 years old, all felonies and one misdemeanor count of sexual battery.

The five incidents occurred during an eight-year span between August 2002 and December 2015. These acts included five separate male victims between the ages of 13 and 16 years old at the time of the assaults

In a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller of the Sex Crimes Division said that none of these assaults occurred on school grounds.

Jimenez was arrested back in 2015 after being accused of allegedly sexually assaulting students while coaching at Franklin High School. He was removed from his volunteer position where he coached for  15 years. During his arrest, authorities asked current and former students to come forward with additional information.

Sentencing for the suspect is scheduled for January 13, 2017 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. Jimenez faces 36 years and two months in state prison and will have to register as a sex-offender.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Community Police Station.
