MALIBU—Tickets for the city of Malibu’s first Concert on the Bluffs live outdoor music event on Sunday, June 12 at 4:30 p.m. at Bluffs Park are now on sale. The Concert on the Bluffs event will cater music to all individuals from classical to film to pop, with a view of Malibu’s breathtaking mountains and coastline.

According to a press release from the city of Malibu website, the event will feature world-class musicians from the Malibu Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and composers Marco Beltrami, Maria Newman, Trevor Rabin and Sting; this is not your everyday symphony experience. There will be a special performance by principal members of the New York City Ballet.

“We have an abundance of very talented artists living in our city, and we have long wanted to celebrate them. We’re famous for beautiful beaches and great surfing. It’s time we were recognized as an important arts destination,” said Mayor Laura Rosenthal.

Concert on the Bluffs was developed by the Malibu Cultural Arts Commission in responses to the Malibu City Council’s request to manifest new public arts and culture offerings in the region with public and private participation that appeal to the entire community.

The Malibu Cultural Arts Commission is hoping to turn the Concert on the Bluffs into an annual event. Audience members are invited to bring picnic baskets, blankets, and beach chairs. General admission tickets are $25 or $15 for students and seniors. Children five and under can enter the event free of charge.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.concertonthebluffs.brownpapertickets.com or in person at the Malibu Bluffs Park or Malibu City Hall.
