BEVERLY HILLS—On Sunday, May 4, Beverly Hills will hold its 5th Annual Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance, a fundraising automotive event under the Friends of Greystone, in an effort to continue its “restoration and preservation … of the nationally registered historic landmark.” It is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will showcase a total of 175 automobiles and motorcycles.
In a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, the event committee has announced the lineup of automobiles that will be at the show, “[commemorating] the 60th Anniversary of the Porsche Speedster, with approximately two dozen examples, including the very last one produced. Other Porsches will include 356 and 911 models.
The 50th anniversary of the legendary Mustang will also be celebrated, with approximately a dozen cars, including production classics and Shelby GTs. Also to be shown will be Cobras such as factory competition cars and one of the just 32 ‘narrow hip’ 427’s made.
Other notable cars on display at the event include Italian cars represented by rare examples of the Alfa Romeo SZ and TZ models, and Ferrari’s such as a 250 GT Lusso, 250 GT Short Wheelbase Berlinetta and 365 GTB/4 Daytona. A Talbot, Facel Vega and Dual-Ghia will also be on display.”
Also in accordance with Beverly Hills’ 100th anniversary, “[a] special Centennial Class has been added to this year’s event comprised of approximately a half-dozen cars built in 1914 or earlier…The Centennial cars will be presented along with a display of historic Beverly Hills photographs and memorabilia.”
Heather Sumagaysay, publicist with the City of Beverly Hills told Canyon News that regarding the success of previous Concour d’Elegances, “Every year the annual event succeeds our expectations and delights new audiences.
Not only is this event an unforgettable automobile showcase, it also features five-star culinary experiences, libations, lectures, shopping, and a fashion show so there’s something for everyone.” Sumagaysay added that approximately 3,000 patrons attend the Concour d’Elegance each year.
Tickets for the Greystone Mansion Concour d’Elegance can be purchased in advance at a price of $120. This will include food and drink, access to GreystoneMansion, as well as admission to the scheduled lecture series and fashion show. Patrons will each receive a commemorative poster and program. Free parking and shuttle rides will also be available.
