BEVERLY HILLS_”Construction on Rexford Drive in front of the Beverly Hills Public Library and the Civic Center parking structure is set to begin this week and will last until mid-May 2014. Motorists should expect delays and should drive cautiously through the construction.

According to a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, the construction project is expected to improve safety, traffic flow and landscaping by removing the circular planter in the front of the Civic
Center parking lot and to create a “T” intersection in this area. This will create crosswalks on both sides of the street, decrease the number of stop signs and increase the visibility of motorists to spot pedestrians.

All traffic lanes on Rexford Drive will remain open, but entry to Rexford entrance to the parking structure is expected to remain closed during construction. Flyers, banners and signage will be posted for visitors in the region.

On Sunday, March 16, the Civic Center Structure will be closed to the public until 3:00 p.m. For those heading to the Farmer’s Market or the Beverly Hills Public Library, parking will be available all day at the Foothill and Third Street lot located at 9333 W. Third Street.
