BEVERLY HILLS—For the first time in nearly 41 years, the Daytime Emmy Awards will not be broadcast on network or cable television. The ceremony will be streamed live via the Internet at www.daytimeemmys.net. The announcement was made on June 5 by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).

NATAS chairman Malachy Wienges released the following statement, “We are confident that the expert team we’ve brought on will flawlessly execute an evening that celebrates the outstanding talent being honored and allows fans to be a part of the action.”

The past 2-3 ceremonies have not been the best in the past with cheesy music, bad hosts and just an awards show that many would change the channel from watching.

The telecast will begin at 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, June 22. The ceremony will be held at the famed Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
