WEST HOLLYWOOD — The deadline for the submission of the application to become a part of a Working Group to implement a new Community Plan has been extended to Friday, February 14.

The Eastside Community Plan Working Group is tasked with overseeing the implementation of a plan that will address key issues for the neighborhood, and the group is still seeking applicants, according to the city’s official site. Currently, there are nine members on board, but there are six vacancies left to fill.

The process of appointing community members to the group by the City Council began on February 3, but the council left the remaining seats open to consider new appointments for a February 18 meeting.

The Working Group will be comprised of members from the Eastside community, and they will oversee the implementation of a new Community Plan that will focus on the issues of land use, economic development, civic engagements and public events. This list may expand over time, if other needs for the community are identified. The Working Group will meet over a period of 12 months to make sure that the plan is put into motion, though they can decide to meet on further dates should the need to do so arise.

Applications are open to anyone who is a member of the Eastside community, and the city states on its website that members of the group “may represent more than one stakeholder category.” The application is available through the city’s site at http://www.weho.org/city-hall/boards-commissions/eastside-working-group.
