BEVERLY HILLS — A deadly crash involving a motorcycle occurred on Saturday, February 15.

The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m., according to Captain Rolando Solano of the West Traffic Division, when 27-year-old Ugur Gercek was riding on his 2006 Suzuki 750cc motorcycle northbound on La Cienega Boulevard just north of Waring Avenue. The Los Angeles resident hit the rear end of a 2013 BMW, which was traveling in the same direction at the time.

Mr. Gercek was launched from his motorcycle onto the road. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai, where he died from his injuries. While an autopsy has yet to be performed at the printing of this story, Captain Solano told Canyon News that the likely cause of death was major head trauma from the collision despite his wearing of a helmet at the time of the crash.

“There was no crime involved in this traffic collision,” said Captain Solano. The case is being investigated by West Traffic Detectives.
