NORTH HOLLYWOOD – Deaf West Theater is currently accepting audition tapes for their production of Spring Awakening. Audition tapes will be accepted until Friday, April 18. Rehearsals and production of Spring Awakening will begin in July 2014 and continue until October 2014.

 

Deaf West Theater’s production is open to actors and actresses who will be at least 16 years of age by July; all ethnicities are welcome to send in their audition videos. They will be casting for 24 roles in total. Some musical talent with playing the piano, guitar, bass, drums, cello, violin, or viola might be needed for some of the roles. Having a voice that excels at singing pop/rock music, as well as possessing a vocal range between E3 ‘ E5 is also desirable for some of the roles.

 

Spring Awakening is a rock musical that is inspired by the German play written in the late 1800s by Frank Wedekind, “Fruhlings Ermachen.” The play follows teenagers as they come to terms with growing up and the challenges that come with it.
