HOLLYWOOD HILLS—The Deaf West Theatre Company has an opening for a Managing Director. Applications will be accepted until February 15, 2014. The Managing Director is expected to report, as well as work alongside the Artistic Director to put their ideas into action.
Applicants are expected to at the least have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years experience with a non-profit arts organization. Experience with fundraising, marketing, board relations, and knowledge of American Sign Language and the Deaf community are extremely desirable. Applicants will be expected to start immediately upon hire.

The Deaf West Theatre hopes to “directly improve and enrich the lives of 1.2 million deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals who live in the Los Angeles area by providing exposure and access to professional theater, filling a void for deaf artists and audiences; to serve as an institution for the discovery and exploration of artists’ identities and stature; to create, share and preserve a legacy of deaf culture through the medium of Sign Language Theatre,” according to Deaf West Theatre’s mission statement.
