LOCKHART—The Dollie Cole weekend spectacular at Briar Patch Ranch in Lockhart, Texas, was a magical all-star gathering of politicos, society and show biz.

Some of us flew in from Hollywood on Redken founder Paula Kent Meehan’s G4 magic carpet.

What a treat to be met and escorted to our accommodations and to the party by the handsome men of the Sheriff’s Department.

The combined Birthdays and Anniversary Bash were in celebration of the Tav Luptons of Dallas (Coca Cola); Jim Nabors of Honolulu, Hawaii; (Gomer Pyle); and the hostess, Dollie Cole of Lockhart—an amazing, beautiful and accomplished lady who is the epitome of philanthropy as are her honorees and guests.

Debbie Reynolds popped out of a cake, created with love and laughter by comedienne Ruth Buzzi and hubby, Kent Perkins of Fort Worth, Texas.

The wine, bourbon and margaritas flowed like the Brazos River and sky divers “dropped in” to greet the honorees and partake in the greatest BBQ I’ve ever tasted.

It was a “golden opportunity” even though I was in sparkling silver (created by Erin Pennacchio and Western Hat by Mr. Blackwell) to remind friends that I will be returning to Fort Worth’s Casa Manana in October in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”

Dancin’ and sippin’ til the wee small hours”¦.Wow”¦what a night!

Sunday brunch, again hosted by the devine Dollie, was delicious and wildly funny. Everyone had great anecdotal stories and jokes to swap. We all laughed off the calories we had just put on.

Our flight back to Hollywood was a golden two hours of recounting and reliving the fabulous experiences created by the “hostess with the mostess,” Dollie Cole.
