BEVERLY HILLS —Avalon Books released this week one of the best Western novels I’ve read in decades. “Denim Ryder” is a tall tale with great substance to back it up. The book is surely to become a bestseller with author Stone Wallace penning the sequel to the story.

“Denim Ryder” is filled with fascinating and interesting characters who march in a forward motion as far as the story is told. They are characters you soon become acquainted with, and then invested in until ultimately you care what happens to all of them. Though Wallace writes about characters in a sympathetic manner, his style is extremely foreboding of what is to come. The suspense builds in this book to a fever pitch and ultimately makes such a climax, readers are left with their mouths open. This is the kind of novel that is needed to bring back the great Westerns we all grew up loving. I can easily see Clint Eastwood and Warner Bros or Tom Selleck on the independent circuit falling in love with this story and propelling these magnificently intriguing characters onto the big screen.

The book is a beautiful hard-back edition with over 265 pages that turn so easily because of the charismatic story that the reader won’t be able to put it down. I’m partial to one of the characters but won’t put my opinions of the best character(s) on anyone else. It’s a book that anyone reading it will want to give to someone else, because the story is so brilliantly crafted, I found myself calling others to tell them I have a book to share with you. Stone Wallace has written some of the best biographies ever written and this time he’s outdone himself with a Western novel that I cannot wait until the sequel “Montana Dawn” to be released in June.
