HOLLYWOOD – Sir Mick Jagger is “struggling to understand,” how his long-term girlfriend L’Wren Scott could have ended her own life. The 49-year-old fashion designer and former model was found dead in her New York apartment on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, in an apparent suicide. The legendary Rolling Stones front man posted his emotional message on his personal Web site and on Facebook.

In a message he posted online, Jagger has been in a relationship with her since 2001, said he will never forget his “lover and best friend.” The band which was expected to kick off their 14 ON Fire tour of Australia and New Zealand regrettably announced postponement of the rest of their tour. Her death shocked the fashion world as well. Scott’s company, LS Fashion Limited, was $2.1 million in the red back in 2009, according to financial records in the United Kingdom. By 2012, the company was $5.89 million in the hole, according to published reports.

Was it about the love or money? Mick Jagger has denied via his rep a tabloid report that he recently ditched L’Wren. In a statement, Victoria Scarfone says, “There is absolutely no basis in fact to this story.” “It is a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick.” Unconfirmed reports said Jagger, 70, had flown back to New York.

Tributes have been poured from all over the world for the 6-foot-3 pencil thin designer trendsetter. Scott’s designs have been worn by everyone from Angelina Jolie, Tina Fey, Madonna and Sandra Bullock to First Lady Michelle Obama. Actress Nicole Kidman who also owns a place in the 11th Ave, tower was close friends with the fashion designer for 25 years. Mick was once married to Bianca Jagger for eight years and Jerry Hall for nine years.

Just three months ago, Scott made a move into the mass market with a limited-edition line she designed for Banana Republic. It was such a success, that it sold out completely. But apparently it wasn’t enough to put her company back on track. She worked in Paris with famous designers Karl Lagerfeld and Thierry Mugler before returning back to the U.S. as a stylist and designer. She was a wardrobe consultant for films such as “Eyes Wide Shut,” and “Ocean’s Thirteen.” She even met Sir Mick when she worked as a stylist on a photo shoot.

Scott, in addition to her family, is survived by her ex-husband Anthony Blake Brand, 52. They divorced in 1996. Scott changed her name in her teens when she was originally called Luann Bambrough. We are all stunned and saddened by the loss of L’Wren Scott.

Thin is not always in, especially for the fashion magazine Vogue. Vogue is featuring a plus-size clothing line in the April issue. The fashion bible is highlighting Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo’s Lane Bryant line, with glam photos of her size 14-28 collection. In the past, Vogue has celebrated plus-size only a handful of times.

Rose’s Scoop: Spring is finally here. Whether its Chanel or Prada look for the pencil skirt and crop-top along with an array of rainbow brights.  Gucci’s spring collection has brought the disco glamour back with the Art Nouveau collection in prints, along with silk jacquards and metallics. Finally, birthday wishes go out to soccer player Brien Czuj who will be celebrating his bash on March 26.
