FRESNO—The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center, Inc.(DHHSC) will be hosing their 30th Anniversary Gala on April 5.

 

The DHHSC is a group that aims to “advocate, seek equality, and promote self-determination through empowerment for those who seek our assistance; and to enhance the awareness and understanding of Deaf Culture and the unique communication needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals,” according to the DHHSC’s mission statement on their website. Some of the assistance they provide include communication/interpreting assistance, counseling, independent living advice and job development and placement.

 

The gala is meant to celebrate the 30 successful years the DHHSC have contributed to the deaf community. A seat to attend the event cost $60 for one person and $100 for a couple, the cost also includes the price of the meals that will be provided at the event, which include both vegetarian and meat options. The deadline to submit a form to attend the event was on March 28.

 

The event will start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. The gala will be held on the 10th floor of The Grand 1401, located on 1401 Fulton Street in Downtown Fresno, CA.
