WASHINGTON D.C.—The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the second meeting of their 5-game playoff series against the Washington Nationals, with game 3 taking place in Los Angeles on Monday, October 10 at Dodgers Stadium.

After scoring a pair of quick runs, the Dodgers lost the game 5-2.  Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill started the game off strong, but faltered late, giving up a three-run home-run to Nationals backup pitcher, Jose Lobaton. The hit turned the Dodgers 2-0 lead into a 3-2 deficit. Hill explained his disappointment after the game. We’re tied in this series now because I didn’t execute. For me, it’s extremely disappointing,” said Hill.

Dodgers prized rookie Corey Seager continued to dominate, hitting his second home-run of the series. It has been a tightly contested series thus far, with both games lasting nearly four hours long. Neither team has taken great advantage of the opposition, as both teams missed opportunities to score with the bases loaded.

Game 3 could very well dictate the winner of the first round match-up, as the victor will head into Game 4 looking to close out the series. Kenta Maeda will take the mound for the Dodgers next. The game is scheduled for Monday, October 10.
