STUDIO CITY—Only one month after being burglarized of $10,000 worth of merchandise, a Studio City business that specializes in selling drones has reported that burglars have once again struck the business.
According to reports, Drones Plus owner Mike Thorpe stated that around $15,000 in merchandise was stolen on Wednesday, August 26 from the store by a group of burglars that were caught on store surveillance system.
According to the video, the burglary happened at approximately 2 a.m. when five burglars were spotted looting the store. At least one of those burglars is believed to be a female. All were wearing white clothing and had their covered their heads with sweater hoods.
The group was seen making off with a number of boxes containing merchandise. Thorpe has not disclosed the exact inventory of merchandise that was stolen.
It is believed that the entire robbery took place in a span of no more than a minute and a half.
The robbery on July 19 occurred during the early hours of the morning. Among the merchandise that was stolen, burglars took several Drones and GoPro cameras. None of the stolen merchandise has been recovered. Two suspects in that robbery are still at large. Both of those suspects are thought to have been males.
According to Thorpe, the July 19 robbery was the first time his store had ever been burglarized. It is not clear whether the two burglaries are related to one another.
Drones Plus is located at 11376 Ventura Blvd.., near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue.
