MALIBU—On November 8, just before 6 a.m., Dulce Maria Ramiro Sanchez, 17, of Los Angeles was killed in a crash after suffering from blunt force trauma from a head-on collision. The accident occurred near the former American Apparel Outlet, between Tuna Canyon Road and Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Sanchez’s Honda Accord crashed into an SUV driven by a firefighter who was traveling in the opposite direction, headed towards Pacific Palisades. The firefighter’s injuries included a broken sternum, but he is expected to recover. Officials are investigating the cause of the collision that shut down PCH for several hours.

A memorial was held for Sanchez by friends and family where pictures were placed on posters near the crash site.
