HOLLYWOOD—The El Capitan Theatre will offer an advanced screening of Disney’s new movie “Frozen,” starting on Friday, November 22. The movie will be shown in 3-D five days before its official release in theaters; it will run till January 5, 2014.

The theatre has been transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with trees, glittering lights, and snow-covered balconies. Each screening will be preceded by “Images in Ice,” where performance artists will provide pre-show entertainment with their ice-carving talents. Two characters from the movie, Anna and Elsa, will be introduced on stage for the very first time. With an advance purchase along with the purchase of a movie ticket, audience members can also have breakfast with Anna on select days at 8:30 a.m. before the 10 a.m. showing. For parents who wish to see the movie in 2-D, El Capitan will host Tiny Tot Tuesday every week, where the movie will be shown with a lower volume and dimmer lights for the comfort of younger children.

The new Disney film features an all-star cast, including the voices of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Idina Menzel. The plot of the movie centers on Anna, the fearless heroine who meets an array of interesting characters as she journeys through snow and ice in order to save the kingdom of Arendelle. In the tradition of old Disney, the movie features music composed by Tony Award-winning Robert Lopez, famous for “The Book of Mormon” and “Avenue Q” and is directed by Chris Buck “Tarzan” and “Surf’s Up.”

Show times are 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. every day and 9:45 p.m. on select days. Tickets can either be purchased at the El Capitan Theatre located on 6838 Hollywood Blvd., online at http://elcapitan.go.comor by phone 1-800-DISNEY6.
