SHERMAN OAKS—The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a parking lot fire that erupted around 2:30 a.m in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday, February 25.

The fire occurred on the 14300 block of Addison Street. According to the LAFD, the fire started inside a vehicle.

Arson Investigators reported an electrical issue being the cause of the vehicle engulfing in flames.

There were no reports of any injuries,  but residents had to evacuate their apartments until the fire was put out. While most were able to return back to their homes, some were not.

The fire damaged two residential apartments, where the tenants have to be rehoused. Four cars were destroyed, four additional vehicles suffered heat damage.

It took about 25 minutes for the firefighters to extinguish the flames.
