UNITED STATES—Monica McLean, a former FBI agent, and friend to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, could face charges of tampering with a witness. Ford’s case against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was lacking evidence, where the FBI could not verify Ford’s accusations. Ford’s key witness was Leland Keyser who was allegedly in the house when the alleged incident transpired between Kavanaugh and Ford in 1982.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will continue to investigate McLean for potential witness tampering. According to reports, Leland Keyser indicated that McLean tried to get her to change her story so as not to contradict Ford.

Multiple news sources reported that Keyser came forward with a statement that she never met Brett Kavanaugh. where McLean “urged her to clarify her statement.” Keyser revised her statement indicating that she did not remember attending a party where Kavanaugh was present, but did believe Ford’s claim. Information that Keyser repeated to FBI agents.

According to the report, there were “violations of Senate rules [of] potential witness tampering, and potential false statements made to the committee in violation of federal law.”
